Upcoming PIT Count | Volunteers Needed

Explore the PIT Details & requirements below.

The Point-in-Time (PIT) Count is a locally coordinated effort that fulfills a federal requirement to better understand the number of people experiencing homelessness, including those staying in unsheltered locations, on a single night.

The primary question asked during the PIT Count is, “Where did you sleep last night?” If someone shares that they stayed in a place such as a shelter, a vehicle, or an abandoned property, the goal is to continue the survey so that the information collected can help inform services and support for that individual and others in similar circumstances.

All information collected during the PIT Count is de-identified and submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This data helps determine eligibility for federal funding and is also used locally to guide planning, programming, and advocacy related to housing stability and homelessness.

Ultimately, the data collected by volunteers on January 27, 2026, plays an important role in increasing community awareness of the challenges people face and in strengthening efforts to respond to those challenges with care, effectiveness, and compassion.
