FAST Planning has issued a call for
PUBLICLY ACCESSIBLE
Electric Vehicle Charging Station Project Nominations! There is a total of $2.4 million in funding through a combination of Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) and Carbon Reduction Program (CRP) funds.

VISION
Fairbanks and North Pole aim to become electric vehicle (EV)-ready communities by developing a convenient, equitable, and local EV charging network. This network will support the integration of EVs as a new transportation option among existing options and provide residents and visitors with ample charging access to make EV ownwership feasible and accessible for all.
GOALS
- Expand public and private EV charging infrastructure to provide convenient charging access across the Fairbanks and North Pole region through partnerships and prioritized methodologies.
- Understand current EV owners’ needs and patterns to inform charging infrastructure decisions.
- Distribute charging infrastructure equitably across geographic
areas and land use types. - Position the region as a cold climate EV testing hub.
- Provide the public with information to make informed
transportation decisions on vehicle electrification.
