The Unified Planning Work Program, or UPWP, is one of our core documents here at FAST Planning. You can see the previously approved version of it HERE. The purpose of the UPWP is to document transportation planning activities within our Metropolitan Planning Area. It is important for us as an MPO to ensure that a continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive (3C) approach to plranning for transportation needs is maintained and properly coordinated between us and our partners. The UPWP serves as a management tool that identifies the work tasks, timeline, staffing needs, costs, and funding sources for all FAST Planning transportation planning and programming activities within the Fairbanks and North Pole area.
The primary funding for FAST Planning work tasks comes from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) of the U.S. Department of Transportation.
